Biography

Pastor Lance E. Gillespie Sr.

At the early age of 17, Elder Lance E. Gillespie came to know the Lord Jesus Christ. He was baptized in the name of Jesus on October 4, 1987 and received the Gift of the Holy Spirit on December 2, 1987.

Less than a year later he preached his very first sermon at his home church, Independent Apostolic Assembly under the leadership of Bishop Charles C. McRae III. While at the church, Elder Gillespie served as youth pastor and received his ministerial license on January 24, 1994 and was promoted to Assistant Pastor. Elder Gillespie married his wife Sister Ketema in 1991. Side by Side they served in the ministry for over 13 years.

Being lead by the Spirit of God, Elder and Sister Gillespie joined New Creation Church of the Apostolic Faith under the leadership of District Elder Bernard Reeves. While at New Creation, Elder Gillespie served as outreach director for over five years. This included reaching out to the community by passing out tracks, hosting revivals and re-establishing a radio broadcast for the church.

In 2009 Elder Gillespie founded the New Bethesda International Church, a ministry designed to reach and help people through the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He believes that souls should be set free so that they can worship the Lord in Spirit and Truth.

Pastor Gillespie and his wife have a passion for teaching In-Home Bible Study and fellowshipping with people of God. They have been married for 21 years and have three children. In 2011 New Bethesda merged with the Independent Apostolic Assembly where Pastor Gillespie serves as the senior pastor.
